Application for a room at Université Laval Residences as an intern

  1. To rent a room at Université Laval residences as an intern, you must be participating in an internship supervised by a Université Laval professor at the time of your occupancy;
  2. For those wishing to stay for a short period, please submit your application via the following link: www.residences.ulaval.ca/hebergement-hotelier.
  3. Long-term stays are for a minimum of one month (32 nights or more).If the stay is shorter, the tenant will be required to pay the current short-stay rate, as well as all applicable taxes and fees, without the possibility of a refund.
  4. Applications for internships can be made at any time; availability for the period after May 1st generally opens at the end of February each year.
  5. As a guideline, most of our rental offers for rooms starting in the summer or fall are usually sent out starting in April, and those for winter rentals starting in mid-November.
  6. After completing the following form, you will be asked to access your email inbox to verify the email address used. A reference number will then be displayed on your screen. It is important to keep this number for future reference.

Information for room allocation purposes

Self-identification

Le Service des résidences offers non-smoking and equivalent rooms for rent in three mixed-gender buildings and one building with single-occupancy rooms with shared bathrooms intended for women. Visitors of any gender may access the buildings when accompanied by the resident hosting them.

The mixed-gender buildings consist of floors for men, floors for women, and mixed floors with gendered bathrooms. Some of the mixed floors include a men's bathroom, a women's bathroom, and a gender-neutral bathroom.

Due to limited capacity, we ask residents to provide self-identification to ensure appropriate allocation of rooms.

If you have a disability or a particular medical condition and that you think it is relevant to inform us, please mention it below. If necessary, we will contact you to obtain information related to your accommodation request.

Supervision of the internship at l’Université Laval or an affiliated institution

To be eligible for the "Intern" package rate, the tenant must be supervised by a professor from l'Université Laval.






Information regarding room rental

Dates for which you wish to book

Please specify the dates of your internship. You can later indicate the exact dates you wish to occupy the room. To be eligible for the "Intern" package rate, the tenant must stay in the residence for more than one month (32 nights or more). For shorter stays, the tenant agrees to pay the current short-stay rate, as well as all applicable taxes and fees, without the possibility of a refund. Refer to the current rental terms and conditions if needed.



End of Internship
As indicated in the Terms and conditions under point H, if availability permits, the intern may request permission to extend their stay in residence beyond the duration of their internship. However, during the summer period, the intern may not extend their stay beyond the summer deadline.
If the supervision of their professor is lost, the intern may also request permission to continue their stay. If this is refused, they agree to vacate the residences within seven days. In this case, point 4 of Option A applies in full.

Registration procedures

  1. At this stage, you do not need to provide a deposit. As soon as a rental offer is sent to you, you will be asked for an amount equivalent to your first month's rent. You must respond promptly, as failure to receive the completed offer (deposit included) within the required timeframe indicated on the offer will result in the cancellation of your rental application.
  2. Once the rental offer is accepted, you will be required to comply with the terms and conditions (PDF) in effect and to assume any associated fees. In the event of cancellation, your deposit is not fully refundable.
  3. You do not need to have your acceptance response to a study program at this time, but you must be registered as a full-time student at Université Laval from the beginning of the term for which you are booking and for the entire duration of your stay. In the event of refusal of admission, your deposit is not fully refundable.
  4. It is only upon your arrival at the residence that you will know your room number and its pavilion.
  5. The rates indicated are in effect from September to April.
